🖤 Celebrating Black History Month at BCEHub
At BCEHub, we proudly recognise and celebrate Black History Month — a time to honour the remarkable contributions, creativity, and resilience of Black individuals and communities across the UK and beyond.
Throughout this month, our website has showcased several special highlights, each representing unique ways in which culture, art, and history have shaped our communities.
Black History Month Highlights
The Oxfam Shop in Bedford High Street dedicated a beautiful display featuring a collection of books reflecting the stories, achievements, and experiences of Black individuals throughout history.
This initiative reminds us how education and literature play a vital role in promoting understanding, equality, and awareness.
Local animation and creative artist Abi Tomasiewicz had his stunning work displayed in Tottenham Court Road, London.
Commissioned by the Mayor of London, his artwork celebrates influential Black individuals who have made significant contributions to empowerment, equality, and civil rights.
A proud moment of recognition for our local talents making national impact.
In partnership with Bedfordshire Health Radio, broadcaster Valma James held an insightful discussion with Black Veteran Advocate Horace, exploring the vital yet often overlooked contributions of Black servicemen and women during wartime.
Their courage and service helped shape our shared history — a legacy that deserves continued recognition and respect.
