Your Health Matters
Many adults live with undiagnosed autism, facing challenges that affect their work, relationships, and daily life. Without support, this can lead to stress, isolation, and missed opportunities.
Life pressures such as financial worries, health concerns, caring responsibilities, and loneliness can all build up over time, impacting both mental and physical wellbeing.
Do not suffer in silence. Seek support before it becomes a crisis.

Women to Women Event in Luton Demystifies Genetics for the Community
Understanding Your Genes: Why Knowing What You Pass to the Next Generation Matters
On Friday, 27th March, Hatworks in Luton played host to an inspiring “Women to Women” event focused on understanding your genes and why it matters. Attended by women of all ages and from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, the session provided a welcoming space for learning, discussion, and questions.
Hosted by carer and radio presenter Valma James, with Dr Martkella Mikkelsen as guest speaker, the event offered a jargon-free explanation of DNA and genes, including how genetic conditions are inherited and why early knowledge can make a real difference. Speakers emphasized the importance of understanding genetic risks before starting a family, highlighting the options and choices available when people are informed in advance.
Attendees shared personal experiences, creating a safe and open environment for conversation. The session successfully demystified genetics, helping participants understand not just the science, but also the practical value of checking our genes early. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" could not be truer in the context of family planning and understanding the real risks of passing a genetic disease to one's child. Or grandchild.
The organisers hope to extend this learning to even more people. Anyone planning educational events for the community, especially for young adults, women, or other groups, is encouraged to reach out
The team would be delighted to provide an education session.
