BCEHub Newsletter:
A Year in Review

2025-2026

As 2025 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect openly and honestly on the year just gone.

The early part of the year was shaped by unforeseen challenges, particularly Valma’s illness, which naturally slowed progress and activity. As a result, 2025 became less about growth and delivery, and more about recovery, recalibration, and rebuilding strength. While there were a few posts and moments of engagement along the way, this year was ultimately a reset rather than a full programme of activity.

As the year continued, focus gently returned to what BCEhub was always intended to be — a place rooted in community, care, and vision. Step by step, energy returned, ideas resurfaced, and the foundations were quietly strengthened.

The most significant milestone of the year came toward the end of 2025 with the formation of a new partnership with Esquires Coffee. This partnership marks an important moment for BCEhub and sets the tone for what’s to come. While much of the work now takes place behind the scenes, this collaboration opens the door to meaningful opportunities and activities planned for the year ahead.

Looking forward to 2026, there is renewed hope, clearer direction, and a shared belief that the plans nurtured during this quieter year can now begin to come to fruition.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. Sometimes progress is not loud — it happens quietly, steadily, and with care. We look forward to sharing much more with you in the coming year.

Warm wishes,

The BCEhub Team

Key Events and Milestones

Arts & Crafts

Mondays became a creative haven, offering everything from pottery to festive holiday gift-making sessions.

The UN International Older Persons Day

brought the community together for a day of tea dances, inspiring speakers, and valuable exhibitions. The contributions from local businesses like Sainsbury's and volunteers made it unforgettable.

Friday Social Networking Hub

featured amazing guest speakers like Feroze Dada, who shared insights into meditation and well-being, leaving attendees inspired.

Empowering Our Members

Our Carers Support Group provided an essential lifeline for unpaid carers, creating a space for connection and advocacy. Male carers, in particular, were given a platform to share their experiences. Training workshops equipped members with skills in employability, self-advocacy, and understanding social care legislation, helping them gain confidence and achieve personal goals.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To all our members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners—thank you for making BCEHub a place of connection,

support, and creativity. Your contributions, whether big or small, have helped us make a difference in countless lives.

As Gloria, one of our members, put it:
"Everyone came together, helped one another. When community is done right, its strength knows no bounds."

We couldn’t agree more.

Here’s to a brighter 2025 filled with more opportunities, connections, and moments to celebrate.

Together, we’ll continue to make BCEHub a thriving center for our community.
